Italian chef Dara Klein to open Tiella Trattoria & Bar on Columbia Road next week

Tiella Trattoria & Bar, a new restaurant led by Italian-born chef Dara Klein, is scheduled to open on Columbia Road next Wednesday. Ahead of its official launch, the team will hold a limited soft launch over the coming weekend, from Friday to Sunday.

The trattoria’s name refers to a traditional Italian dish as well as the earthenware pot in which it is cooked, reflecting the culinary heritage that will be showcased on the menu. Tiella aims to bring a taste of southern Italy to the area, focusing on regional specialities and seasonal ingredients. Leading the charge, Klein has previously worked in a range of kitchens both in Italy and the UK, bringing experience and a personal connection to the food of her homeland.

The opening comes as the latest addition to Columbia Road’s growing food and drink scene. The spot, already known for its weekend flower market and variety of independent businesses, is expected to benefit from the arrival of a new dining option with a focus on authentic Italian fare.

Reservation lines are now live, allowing diners to book tables ahead of the official opening, with the soft launch (running from Friday to Sunday) giving early guests a first look at what’s on offer. Further details about the menu and opening hours are expected to be released closer to the launch date.
