A special culinary event will take place at The Silver Birch in Chiswick this March, as celebrated Edinburgh chef Roberta Hall McCarron joins forces with the venue’s head chef Nathan Cornwell for a collaborative nine-course tasting menu. The four hands dinner will bring together two accomplished chefs for a single evening, showcasing their shared appreciation for British produce and seasonal ingredients.

Hall McCarron, known for her work as chef-owner at Ardfern, The Little Chartroom and Eleanore in Edinburgh, will travel to London specifically for the occasion. She will work alongside Cornwell, head chef at The Silver Birch, to create a menu intended to highlight the best of spring’s offerings from across the British Isles, marking the arrival of warmer weather and the beginning of the spring season.

The tasting menu will feature a variety of dishes that reflect both chefs’ commitment to high-quality, locally sourced ingredients. Among the courses planned are Oysters with Seaweed Hot Sauce, Herb Gazpacho with Scallops, Mussels and Smoked Almonds and Eastdale Langoustines with Crispy Pig’s Head. The selection has been curated to emphasise the freshness and diversity of local spring produce.

A carefully chosen wine pairing will accompany the meal, with guests welcomed at 7pm for arrival drinks. Wines for the evening include Etna Rosso from Custodi, Querbach Riesling from Rheingau and Assyrtiko from Santorini, offering a range of European varietals to complement the dishes served.

Hall McCarron is recognised for her innovative approach to modern British cooking, and her restaurants in Edinburgh have received critical acclaim for their focus on seasonal and local ingredients. Cornwell, meanwhile, has established The Silver Birch as a destination for contemporary British cuisine in west London.

The collaboration represents a rare opportunity for London diners to experience the combined talents of two chefs with a shared culinary ethos. The event is expected to attract both local food enthusiasts and followers of Hall McCarron’s work. Tables for the evening are likely to be in high demand.
