Prime Video announces Lily Allen documentary from Oasis: Supersonic director

Prime Video has announced a feature-length documentary exploring the life and career of Lily Allen, offering an intimate portrait of the singer-songwriter from her breakthrough in the mid-2000s to her recent musical comeback. Directed by Mat Whitecross (Oasis: Supersonic, Coldplay: A Head Full of Dreams), the film will stream globally in 2027.

Charting Allen’s rise from the MySpace era to becoming one of Britain’s most distinctive pop voices, the documentary will look back on the moments that shaped her career, from chart-topping success to her influence on a new generation of female artists. Featuring interviews with those closest to Allen, the film promises a candid look at her creative life, public persona and continued reinvention.

The announcement follows the release of Allen’s latest album, West End Girl, which marked her return to music and introduced a new chapter in her career. The documentary will revisit that journey while reflecting on the artist’s lasting impact on British pop culture.

Whitecross is no stranger to music documentaries, having previously directed acclaimed films on Oasis and Coldplay. His latest project will combine archival material with new interviews to tell the story of an artist who helped reshape British pop in the 21^st century.
