Luxurious silk scarves from Elizabeth Kate
Elizabeth Kate is a print label set up by Liz Bush, a graduate from Chelsea College of Art and Design. Liz has had previous experience as a freelance designer selling hand-painted silk prints to fashion houses around the world and on the High Street. All this experience has helped her to realise her dreams of opening her very own label in 2011.
Her first collection is a mixture of glamour and fun pieces. Each scarf is very unique with individual designs and a one-of-a-kind print. Liz’s signature style includes using an array of colours so that each piece is vibrant and vivid. Symmetric formations, plaited repeats and large-scale border prints are continuously used. Whist her main source of inspiration has always been organic patterning and Mother Nature, her designs are creations of her own imagination, which include electric colours and eccentric designs.
To create the prints on the scarves, Liz is constantly taking inspiration from dreams, imaginative hidden worlds and fictional creatures that resemble the inner child. A sense of hyperrealism is created when the designer combines mundane aspects with beauty. It brings a contrasting element to the scarf.
The designs on her scarves include a combination of creepy crawlies, dragonflies, beetles with beautiful encrusted bodies and intricate hand-drawn butterflies complemented with precious stones.
