Lily Aldridge designs for Velvet
The beautiful Victoria’s Secret model Lily Aldridge has designed her first clothing line in collaboration with Velvet by Graham and Spencer.
The 27-year-old Aldridge is no stranger to fashion. Brought up in a fashion-focused family of models and with a photographer for a brother, she certainly knows a thing or two about what makes a winning outfit. The wife of Kings of Leon front man, Caleb Followill, gave birth to their first child, Dixie, last June. Since becoming a mother Aldridge has been enjoying experimenting with fashion.
Her début collection is a 13-piece ensemble of contemporary basics combined with boho rock and roll glamour creating a very wearable “laid back luxe” collection. Each style in the collection is named after close friends and family, including her daughter, her sister Ruby and the loving husband. “I love the Lily dress and the Ruby jacket as a combo. They look great together, the perfect summer music-festival outfit. I am also absolutely in love with the Dixie dress!” she reveals. Festivals are close to Aldridge’s heart. It was at the Coachella festival that her and Caleb met.
Being a model gave Aldridge a great insight into fashion and how clothes fit. She wanted to create a line of clothes that was not only stylish but easy to wear both day and night; and she certainly has managed this! If a t-shirt is the correct fit it can look fabulous and be a key staple item in any woman’s wardrobe. The Lily Aldridge for Velvet collection is perfect for luxury basics in sensuously soft fabrics.
