Spring pastel polishes for every pocket

Spring pastel polishes for every pocket

Easter has been and gone and now the daffodils are flowering and the buds are on the trees – spring is here! This is the perfect time of year to put away those darker shades of winter and break out the pastels in anticipation of the better weather.

Pastels are really on trend this season and so many companies have shades available. No matter what your price range there’s a pastel shade for you.

2true polish

2True Fast Dry Nail Polish in Shade 14, £1.99 – A subtle lilac-grey that will match most outfits and all budgets. At this price it’s worth picking up a bottle just to test out a new shade.

miners polish

Miners Nail Colour in Laguna Love, £2.99 – This lovely lilac shade is reminiscent of the sugary sweet love heart sweets and that is certainly a palette to keep in mind this season. This polish is bang on trend and easy on the wallet.

ciate polish

Ciaté Paint Pot in Loop The Loop, £9 – Like a fluffy Easter chick, Loop The Loop is a soft yellow just right for this time of year. One of the “must have” items for Spring/Summer 13 is a white dress and this polish could be just the thing to add a splash of colour.

illamasqua polish

Illamasqua Nail Varnish in Scarce, £14.50 – If you are looking for a pastel polish with a twist then you will love the new speckled polishes from Illamasqua. So why not extend your Easter and make your nails look like mini eggs!

dior polish

Dior Vernis Haute Couleur High Lasting Lacquer in Charnelle, £18 – If you want to hit two birds with one stone then the pale shade for you this season is nude. Try and get the shade as close to your skin tone as you can for the ultimate nude look.

If you simply can’t decide which shade you want, why not try out the new style of ombré? Instead of having a gradient on each fingernail, this time round we have a different shade on each nail, lightest on your little finger to darkest on your thumb or visa versa.

If the thought of buying five new polishes seems expensive, then simply buy the darkest shade you want and make your own tones with white polish. Take a dab of the dark colour and mix in some white in a bowl or on a sheet and then paint it on. Do this four times getting lighter each time and you have your ombré nails! Just remember to paint the matching fingers on each hand at the same time, so you get an even finish.
