Girlgang’s print-obsessed streetwear collection

Girlgang’s print-obsessed streetwear collection

Girlgang, the London-based clothing label created by Pinklady, is all about streetwear.  Using bangs of bright colour and some brilliant prints, Girlgang makes the most out of second-hand items from the Eighties and Nineties to produce a fresh and feminine collection that could have come straight out of any episode of The Fresh Prince of Bel Air.

Since 2005, Pinklady has been sifting through the mass of past fashions to bring second-hand treasures to everyone’s attention. Starting when she was a student selling vintage goods in Portabello market, Pinklady’s taste for London street style grew and she began creating her own designs. Added to her fledgling love for hand-picked vintage treasures, Girlgang was born.

The gems that have been selected from the depths of time, such as the bright ethnic-print cropped T-shirt which would look amazing teamed with a pair of high-waisted Eighties jeans, are all individual and distinctive. The collection ranges from mad, printed leggings to a shoulder-padded, purple jacket; all with a sports-luxe feel, more girly than tomboy.

Girlgang’s collection has its fair share of absolutely delicious vintage Versace;blue jeans with an exotic animal theme printed over them and amazing black-and-white checked Versace denim jacket, with exotic flowers across the front and finished perfectly with silver, pointed pocket tips are just a couple of examples that stick out.

When sifting through the crazy prints that Girlgang has collected, the Nineties television show Saved by the Bell springs to mind, yet with a little more style and a lot more attitude. It is a truly print-obsessed, street-wear bad-girl label.

Check out the Girlgang website here for more information and to get your hands on some of these cool clothes.
