Tegan and Sara

Tegan and Sara | Live review

The crowd at the 02 Arena were clearly not only out to see The Killers, and if they were, then they certainly enjoyed the support act, Tegan and Sara. Described as indie pop, the popular Canadian identical twins hit the stage and played songs from old albums including The Con (2007), So Jealous (2004) and even their 2002 album, If It Was You. It was difficult to even hear the sisters during crowd pleaser Back In Your Head, as the audience drowned them out with a sing-a-long.

Tegan and Sara have always been great with their fans. During this concert they were actively involving the crowd, and even engaging with those stood the furthest away. The light-hearted humour between the sisters, and the set-up on stage, created a comfortable atmosphere in the arena, and amongst the fans, as everybody shared their enjoyment.

The girls are huge in America, but not so well known in England. After this show it is easy to predict that they will develop a wider audience, particularly because they are touring with The Killers.

The song I’m Not Your Hero surprised fans, and gave a peek into what to expect on the girls upcoming album, Heartthrob. New single Closer, also went down well in the arena, proving that the Canadian twins will be around for a while yet, and who knows, perhaps one day they will be a household name in England.
