On the 6th June New Bond Street saw an abundance of Girbaud lovers flooding through the doors of the Marithé + François Girbaud flagship store to witness their new A/W ’13 collection stride down the runway. Guests were then treated to an auction featuring various art pieces, collectables and signed memorabilia, the proceeds of which went to the SOS Children’s Villages Charity.

SOS Children’s Villages is an international charity focused on providing alternative care for children who cannot live with their biological families. They believe whole-heartedly in putting the child first and help each individual child exercise their rights. The organisation is active in 133 countries and territories, and has united members across five continents in pursuing the fundamental principles initiated by Hermann Gmeiner in 1949.

The collection itself features a mix of colour and texture, focusing on versatility and wearability. We’ve chosen some of our favourite pieces, and we specifically loved the LBDs that were strutted through the shop. In addition to this, we could not help but mention the men’s Pleagator trousers in blue, which are absolutely scrumptious. Girbaud is well known for its long-lasting quality and quirky style, and this latest collection certainly hasn’t fallen short of its high expectations.

All in all, it was a fabulous event and was thoroughly enjoyed by all the guests, who had their champagne flutes filled repeatedly and were only ever a few metres away from some beautiful waiter offering delicious canapés.
