Cloud & Victory: printed T-shirts with a difference

You can walk into most high-street stores and find graphic t-shirts printed with logos, phrases and photos, but at Cloud & Victory they’re bringing printed t-shirts with a twist.C&V tumble

Min is the creative genius behind Cloud & Victory. She admits that when she was younger she had her head in the clouds rather than in the text books. She liked being creative but she actually studied law and political science where the strain of achieving grades made her ill. Min started the company shortly before she graduated.C&V Gymnastic

Her original designs consisted of v-necks and scoop necks featuring subjects Min felt strong about, including ballet, gymnastics and Lord of the Rings. Min found that people responded well to her early pieces and so she went on to offer more modern and relevant shirt styles. Cropped t-shirts and boyfriend tees started to appear in Min’s range. Min believes in offering quality but at a more accessible price, using environmentally friendly fabrics such as Tencel and luxury Turkish cotton.  C&V downton tee

You wouldn’t think that prints of gymnasts alongside images of fantasy characters would work, but it really does! This Downton tee is perfect for any diehard fans, but it will also look great as a fashion statement. The Tumble Hard t-shirt works really well as a statement piece, and if you’re looking for a top for the festival season then it might be worth investing in this Sansa shirt. It’s simple, but the print will look great this summer.C&V sansa

It will be interesting to see how Min develops the collections further. “At the moment I’m working on some new designs for fall, and sunsets, smokescreens and Chinese gongbi art are proving a boon to my creativity.” In terms of inspiration Min is inspired by artists: “Seeing what other people can create is endlessly inspiring and pushes me to improve myself. It’s hard to watch a ballet, for instance, and not appreciate what beauty the dancers, orchestra, costumers, tech crew have created individually and collectively, and the hours of hard work that must have gone into it.” Humour also plays a big part in inspiring Min: “…if you can’t laugh at yourself – or at least at a good episode of Whose Line is it Anyway – you’ll never enjoy what you’re doing.”

This collection is really unusual but it’s great that you can find prints that you won’t find anywhere else. It will definitely be exciting to see the collection for fall.
