Exciting nail finishes continue to be a huge trend this year and with good reason. The choices of colour, design and now even texture, are seemingly endless. For those of us who aren’t as steady handed as we’d like, doing your own nails at home often ends in disaster on at least one hand (how do you decorate the hand you write with?).

Original Sugar is a polish brand that specialises in textured polishes and achieving salon results at home. Industry professionals and nail technician to the stars, Sam Biddle and Rebecca Orme’s easy-to-use nail finishes each come in a pretty bag complete with instructions and top tips. The Original Sugar website also offers step-by-step guides to achieve perfect nails and “Get the look” tutorials for the latest nail fashion.

Original Sugar has three exciting finishes to choose from; Velveteen, Bullionaire and Dipped in Sugar. Velveteen, created by the brand’s Sam Biddle, is the velvet manicure that gives nails a luxurious look that’s also soft and furry. Available in 22 colours, Velveteen is great on its own as a finish or can be mixed with glitter for a little sparkle or gold leaf for textured opulence.

Bullionaire is the brands own style of bead textured finish made with micro beads to give a delicate finish and makes the look more wearable. The Bullionaire manicure has to be the quickest and easiest to do with instant professional looking results. Simply paint your nails with a colour similar to that of your Bullionaire beads and, whilst they’re still wet, dip your nail into the beads. Finish with a clear topcoat and voilà! Choose from ten different colours or make your own colour scheme like Original Sugar’s monochrome look recently seen on E4’s Made in Chelsea’s Gabriella Ellis.

However if you’re after something that will really stand out opt for Original Sugar’s Dipped in Sugar range. The unique combination of various sized glitter really catches the light and makes your nail twinkle. As with the Bullionaire the look is so easy to achieve, simply sprinkle the sugar over wet polish and let them shine! Perfect for a special occasion or to add a sparkling diamond finish to your look for a snip of the price.
