Molly Goddard is one to watch. After graduating from Central Saint Martins, whose alumni reads like a who’s who of fashion, Goddard has already worked with Giles Deacon and interned for the famous Galliano and the fantasy loving duo, Meadham and Kirchhoff. Now her beautiful pieces can be yours for the first time, as Goddard designs an exclusive capsule collection for ASOS.image4xxl

“Dresses are my favourite item ever,” says Goddard, who was inspired by Barbie and The Spice Girls for her degree show. This explains why her latest collection is super sweet and girly. Taking ideas from her show, Goddard has reworked her designs to make them more wearable but losing none of her character. The four-piece collection includes a quirky shocking pink tea dress made entirely out of sheer tulle, which gives it a modern fairytale aesthetic, and an intricate lace piece with a mesh smock overlay. image1xxl-1

Talking about her collection with ASOS, Goddard describes her dresses as “fun and glamorous. They can be dressed up or down, taken apart and swapped around”. Each of Goddard’s pieces has two layers – an embroidered underdress and an oversized mesh outer dress. She uses traditional craft techniques including embroidery and gives it a contemporary twist, and adds a fun element with pop bright colours.image1xxl

“The thought of seeing people out and about in my dresses is such an exciting prospect,” Goddard tells Vogue, “Working with ASOS has been an incredible learning experience, as it is such an enormous brand and continues to commission innovative projects and produce current fashion. As such a new designer, it’s amazing that ASOS have supported me in putting my designs out at a level I never imagined.”
