Discover the secret boutiques in east London with new app WeLikeShopping

Who doesn’t love shopping? But browsing around the same high-street stores can get a little boring if you’re looking for something a little different. Or, if you know what you need, say a great pair of jeans, and are in a shopping hub like east London, you could spend your day just trying to find a shop that specialises in denim. This is where brand new app WeLikeShopping comes in, to save you time and gets you shopping like a local with the location of every hidden gem around you, in the palm of your hand.IMG_5985

Last night saw the opening of WeLikeShopping’s pop-up shop in super cool Box Park, Shoreditch. Complete with iPads showing how to use the new app, the pop-up also housed a selection of pieces from their carefully curated list of independent shops, giving us a sneak peek at the type of boutiques we can expect to find on their app. Like a little black book of boutiques, the app gives you all the essential information you need about local independent brands to pop-up stores, including opening hours and directions through Google maps. Each shop can upload as much information about itself as they like, including images of current stock and new pieces.IMG_5995

Daniel Abluch created WeLikeShopping, the brand, earlier this year, however he only launched the app a couple of months ago and has already received over 500 downloads. Inspired by the memory of following his mother from shop to shop as a boy, Abluch wanted to create something that made the shopping experience easier and also gave shoppers the inside knowledge to brave away from the known high-street chains. Starting with east London, Abluch plans to expand the app to include other areas in London, before venturing to other cities in the UK and potentially the world.

Find out more about the app here or visit the pop-up shop at Boxpark, Shoreditch until Sunday 4th August.
