NIKITA, a new sporting apparel and accessories label, was created by Heida Birgisdottir in 1999. NIKITA is an Icelandic clothing brand that is retailed worldwide. Heida’s passion for fashion inspired her to launch her own brand and her love for sports – namely snowboarding and surfing – heavily influences the brand’s look.

NIKITA is a brand that divulges in femininity when it comes to sports. Heida noticed a gap in the fashion market from her own experiences when she was looking for feminine sporting gear that masculine sporting brands lacked in. NIKITA is one of the first action sports brand driven by none other than a woman. The label’s motto “For Girls Who Ride” stays strong and has carried the brand through to the success that it has today. The collections include streetwear, swimwear, full range outerwear and NIKITA snowboards and accessories.

The spring/summer 2013 collection is the perfect answer for outdoor summer escapes, whatever the destination. The collection caters for beaches, camping, mountains, road trips, you name it. The prints and patterns derive from freshness of the sea and the creatures that live in deep blue waters such as jellyfish and seahorses. Expect to see a wide range of materials and textures in the spring/summer range from checked shirts, boyfriend and skinny denims, to shorts, skirt layers, playsuits and knits that are perfect for that ocean breeze. NIKITA allows you to go from casual and an understated cool from day to night within a flash. Surf’s up!
