The new designer eBay: Hardly Ever Worn It

The new designer eBay: Hardly Ever Worn It

If you’ve always craved a bit more luxury in your wardrobe but don’t know where to begin, then a new London-based portal might just be the answer to all of your problems. Hardly Ever Worn It has been dubbed as a “verified eBay for designer clothes” and it’s certainly creating quite an impression in the fashion industry.

The brand began as a kind of private auction website in order to recycle founder Sharon Walter-Ferguson’s ever expanding wardrobe of designer goods. Hardly Ever Worn It’s expansion came when Sharon’s network of friends began begging her to do the same thing with their unworn designer clothes and the company has now sold over 10,000 items.

The family-run business also employs Sharon’s daughters, Natalya and Tatiana, and makes it easy to avoid the high commissions of other pre-worn designer sellers. A percentage of sales can also be arranged to go to a charity of the seller’s choice, which makes for guilt-free selling and buying. If clients are looking for a more personal experience, then the brand’s recently opened London HQ – opposite Selfridges – is more than happy to oblige.

Clients are more than welcome to simply drop off items that they’re looking to sell, or are also free to stay and browse through items from other VIP sellers in order to get a sneak preview. As Hardly Ever Worn It know most of their clients personally, the brand love to make suggestions of things that they may like, as well as keeping an eye out for items that the client has previously told them that they’re looking for.

The company also offers private appointments, specially organised events with friends and regular VIP hosted trunk shows which allow clients to receive individual style advice, and pick out any items they love before they’re uploaded – and all over a glass of bubbly, naturally!

With everyone from A-list stars and royalty to fashion stylists and editors using the service, it has never been easier – or cheaper! – to snap up a verified item from someone like Kate Green or Sienna Miller’s wardrobe, or discover a unique piece from a brand such as Chanel or Valentino.
