Britain’s emerging talent: Fashion’s Finest Awards 2013
The Fashion’s Finest Awards is an event aimed at highlighting and appreciating undiscovered talent in the British fashion industry. On Saturday 2nd November 2013, Fashion’s Finest hosted their third annual ceremony at the City of Westminster College London, in the Sarah Siddons Theatre.
The event included presenters Erin O’Toole, Eryca Freemantle, Annaliese Dayes and Asher Halle, musical performances from Brick City (X-Factor) and Deleelah, and a fashion show from the winner of the Designer of the Year award, Carlotta Actis Barone.
London pays such close attention to the young ones in the industry, which makes it one of the most innovative fashion capitals of the world. Programs like Fashion’s Finest and NEWGEN are in place to offer young UK-based designers an important introduction to press and buyers. The platform’s exposure is on a global scale and has been known to launch the careers of some of Britain’s most influential designers, including Alexander Mcqueen, Christopher Kane and Mary Katrantzou to name a few.
The children are our future, and the future is now, people! Keep a look out and support the winners of the 2013 Fashion’s Finest Awards, as chosen by the Academy of Fashion and Creative Arts (AFCA).
