Keeping you dry through the storms
Since December the rain does not seemed to have stopped, especially for people living along the South Coast and the Midlands. It’s important to keep dry and at Seasalt they have the perfect coats for you.
Seasalt is over 30 years old and began after Nail Chadwick, his brother David and his Dad went to Penzance and came across a shop called General Clothing stores. David bought an army parka and Neil’s dad ended up buying the shop from the previous owner, Mrs Strutt. The shop opened in July 1981 and as the business grew they found that they were selling a lot of waterproof jackets. The business was constantly expanding but in 2001 Neil, David and their brother Leigh lost their father. In 2003 the brothers decided they wanted to design and sell their own line of clothing and they had always been interested in sustainable textiles. Neil contacted the Soil Association and talked with them about organic cotton, something that was hardly heard of at the time. Neil had also met his wife Sophie by then – a graduate in textile design, so they had some design expertise as well.
The company design and sell products that speak of the fantastic place where they live and the people they share it with. The heritage of Cornwall, the creativity and the maritime history are what make their clothing what it is. Every day when the guys at Seasalt look out of the window at the design office overlooking Falmouth Bay or out of the shop doorways to the local harbour, they feel inspired.
The collection has a true nautical feel to it. Seasalt proves that rainwear doesn’t have to be boring and dull. This Seafolly Jacket is really unusual and not for the faint-hearted. The bold yellow will make you stand out from the crowd. It’s made from tin cloth, a fabric that Seasalt are renowned for.
If you’re brave enough to try a floral raincoat then this Tuppence Mac is for you. The Original Seasalt Raincoat is really cute and you can get it in red or navy.
So, if you’re fed up of the wet, miserable weather perhaps it’s time to brighten up your wardrobe with a coat from Seasalt.
