The renowned “Walkie-Talkie” glass dome at 20 Fenchurch Street is dedicated to three storeys of exquisitely landscaped public gardens, and London’s most exclusive social spaces – including the Sky Pod Bar and open air terrace.

The express lift leads to spectacular, 360-degree uninterrupted views across the city. Visitors are permitted to wander the Sky Garden and observation decks, before sipping a beverage at the bar – places are strictly limited and must be booked in advance.

An open and vibrant place of leisure, this extensive garden offers a chance to experience London from a unique viewpoint. Drought-resistant Mediterranean and South African plants have been chosen to work in harmony with the quality of light passing through the roof canopy; colourful flowers flourish all year round.

The architecture – particularly its high, faceted steelwork and glass – is simply astonishing. Paired with the location, it is no wonder this venue is recognised as one of London’s new favourite spots.

Situated amongst the gardens, the all-day drinking and dining space at Sky Pod Bar provides tea, coffee and light snacks for early appointments, and an extensive cocktail list, craft ales and sharing boards for later meetings. Gin, vodka and champagne concoctions are reasonably priced (from £11.50) for a venue 150 metres up.

Hospitable staff are able to offer expert recommendations based on taste preferences: the suggested Pink is the Question and a tailor-made “surprise” arrived swiftly and well-presented. The former (Ciroc vodka, green apple liqueur, blueberries and lime, complete with candy floss) was visually appealing, and had an equally delightful flavour. The second cocktail, described by the waiter as a “masculine drink”, was certainly that, with strength being one of its main components.

The Sky Garden and Sky Pod Bar exude a welcoming atmosphere; customers are able to sit back and relax, whilst soaking up magnificent interior and exterior views, including The Shard, Tower Bridge, St Paul’s Cathedral and Canary Wharf. The spacious terrace also provides for an extremely pleasant evening stroll, with plenty of opportunities to take in the sites.
