Chloe catwalk show report S/S 2016 in Paris
This season’s Chloe show was much-anticipated, with various hashtags gripping the Instagrammers, such as #InvitedByChloe and #chloeGIRLS. The house also recruited super-blogger Chiara Ferragni to take over their Instagram account to increase pre-show excitement and share the show moment by moment, to capture the young, internet-savvy generation of future Chloe girls.
A mix of differing inspirations were present at the show from slick sportswear, to hints at Victoriana, to the 70s bohemian vibe that has almost become a Chloe aesthetic in its own right. Combined they created a beachy atmosphere, likely down to the leather thong gladiators worn with every look.
Sportswear included red, navy and burgundy pullovers with zipper fastenings and stripes chasing down the arms, worn over floaty, floral maxi dresses or denim flares. The Chloe version of the track pants is flared, also with stripes lining the outer leg, and can be worn with a structured cotton halter-neck in a matching colour.
70s-style dungarees were worn in the form of deep burgundy flares and a navy dungaree dress that ended as a floaty, tiered maxi. Underneath, the models wore lacy bandeaus – in fact, lace was seen all over, in trimmings on kaftans and stunning full-lace dresses in white and black, with flared or bell-bottom sleeves.
Fashion’s favourite erogenous zone was on full display with an array of bardot-lines, including a rainbow colour knit with big front pockets; the perfect throw-on when the sun begins to set.
