The Maccabees will headline the All Points East festival on 24th August 2025, marking their first performance in eight years and celebrating the tenth anniversary of their album Marks to Prove It. The event, taking place in Victoria Park, London, will feature a lineup of notable bands including Bombay Bicycle Club, Dry Cleaning, The Cribs, Nilüfer Yanya, The Murder Capital, Divorce, and Prima Queen, with additional acts to be announced.

The reunion has been eagerly anticipated since The Maccabees disbanded in 2017 following a series of farewell concerts at Alexandra Palace. The band’s guitarist, Felix White, shared his sentiments about their return: “In the intervening years we’ve been to All Points East a lot, separately. It’s become a bit of a landmark festival for us, always checking who’s on the line-up. I’d go and have a great time throughout the day, but there was always this pinch of regret watching headliners that we could’ve done it ourselves one day too. I thought that moment had passed, and it was something I was prepared to come to terms with that I was always going to miss. I think we’re all kind of shocked and excited that we get to do it together again.”

The festival is known for its eclectic mix of music and has previously hosted a variety of high-profile artists. The 2025 lineup promises to continue this tradition, with Bombay Bicycle Club returning to the stage after their 2023 album My Big Day and their 2024 EP Fantasies. The lineup also includes Dry Cleaning, known for their unique blend of spoken-word vocals and jagged guitars, and The Cribs, who have maintained a strong presence in the indie rock scene.

Nilüfer Yanya, another artist on the bill, released her album My Method Actor this year, receiving praise for its innovative sound. The Murder Capital and Divorce are also scheduled to perform, bringing their energetic post-punk and indie rock styles to the festival. Rising pop duo Prima Queen will be performing as well, known for their catchy melodies and engaging live performances.

The Maccabees’s guitarist Hugo White also commented on the reunion, inspired by watching The Strokes at a previous All Points East: “I could see that they were enjoying it, realising how great what they had created together was. Being a band, you are usually in a mindset of, ‘We can do better’ and you’re always chasing something else. This is an opportunity to realise that whatever we had in that moment was pretty special and get to enjoy it again. It’s a chance to appreciate everything, and especially how it impacts other people and created a community.”
