Dim Sum Library brings Chinese New Year celebrations and exclusive menu to Covent Garden

Contemporary Cantonese restaurant Dim Sum Library will celebrate Chinese New Year with a series of special events and menu offerings from 16th February to 3rd March 2026. The initiative aims to offer Londoners an alternative to the busy Chinatown area, providing a seasonal set menu, themed cocktails, and interactive activities in honour of the Year of the Horse.

The celebrations will take place at Dim Sum Library’s first international outpost, located at 136 Long Acre, Covent Garden. Originating in Hong Kong, the UK restaurant was launched in December 2025 by Aqua Restaurant Group, which operates several high-profile restaurants in London, Hong Kong, and New York. The concept is characterised by an inventive approach to traditional dim sum and Cantonese cuisine. David Yeo, Founder and CEO of Aqua Restaurant Group, said: “Dim Sum Library represents the evolution of Hong Kong dining: sophisticated yet welcoming, artistic yet deeply rooted in tradition. London’s energy and diversity make it the perfect city to continue this story.”

The Chinese New Year festivities are intended to mark what is traditionally a period of renewal, prosperity, and togetherness. During this period, guests can order a dedicated set menu that features a range of dishes associated with the occasion. Highlights include Lo Hei Salad with Lobster, Scallops, Prawns, Salmon, and Amber Walnuts, as well as signature dim sum such as the decadent Wagyu Beef Puff, Crystal Har Gau, and Black Garlic Siu Mai. Mains on the set menu include Black Truffle Crispy-skin Chicken and steamed Alaskan Black Cod Fillets with Chinese Chives and Sichuan Pepper. The Classic Egg Tart is the unmissable dessert.

The restaurant will also offer a ritual-led tea service for two, a moment to truly pause, pour and toast the New Year, encouraging guests to spend more time together at the table. In addition, a partnership with the brand Peddlers Gin has resulted in a menu of limited-edition cocktails. Among the drinks are the Good Fortune Mule, garnished with a fortune cookie, and the Imperial Horse, featuring Amaro Santoni and Karminia sweet vermouth.

Adding an interactive element to the festivities, diners will have the opportunity to participate in a Lucky Horse chopstick game. Using oversized chopsticks, diners can attempt to pick up a horse figurine from a box of trinkets. Successful participants will win prizes such as Sichuan chilli oil, signature dishes from the à la carte menu, or a Tea Tales for Two service.

Dim Sum Library is operated by Aqua Restaurant Group, which was founded in 2000 and manages more than 20 restaurants and bars worldwide. The Covent Garden venue is the group’s latest venture in London, joining other establishments such as Aqua Kyoto and Hutong at The Shard.
