Brasserie Zédel celebrates Bastille Day with special Lillet cocktails and live French entertainment in July

Brasserie Zédel, the French restaurant on Sherwood Street in Piccadilly, London, will hold a three-day Bastille Day celebration from 12th to 14th July, accompanied by a limited-edition cocktail menu produced in partnership with the aperitif brand Lillet. The cocktail menu will be available from 1st to 14th July, while the wider programme of live entertainment runs across the mid-July dates.

The menu features four cocktails created for the occasion, each priced at £13.50. They combine Lillet’s aperitifs with sparkling Crémant de Loire, seasonal fruit and French flavours. The Spritz Parisien is made with Lillet Rosé, Campari, myrtille liqueur and Crémant de Loire. The Liberté combines Lillet Blanc, vodka, cucumber liqueur, lemon and Pernod. The Égalité contains Lillet Rosé, Plymouth Gin, passion fruit and Crémant de Loire, and the Fraternité is made with Lillet Rouge, Crémant de Loire, framboise liqueur and Fever-Tree lemonade. Perrier-Jouët Grand Brut NV champagne will also be available by the glass or bottle.

The cocktail menu forms part of the restaurant’s annual Bastille Day programme, with live entertainment throughout the venue. This includes performances from Mademoiselle Loulou, a roaming accordionist, close-up magic, and tributes to French musical figures staged at the venue’s Crazy Coqs cabaret space.

Diners in the brasserie during the celebrations can also take part in a Best Dressed competition, with prizes for guests who dress in keeping with the occasion. The venue will continue to serve its regular menu of French dishes over the period, including Escargots au Beurre Persillé and Boeuf Bourguignon.

Bastille Day, marked annually on 14th July, commemorates the storming of the Bastille prison in Paris in 1789, an event widely regarded as a turning point in the French Revolution. The date is a national holiday in France and is observed in various forms internationally, including at French venues and cultural institutions across London.

Brasserie Zédel operates as part of The Wolseley Hospitality Group. The restaurant occupies a large art deco dining room beneath street level in the West End and has become one of several London venues to hold regular Bastille Day events combining food, drink and live performance.
