PMS – Purchase More Shoes: Emmy Scarterfield

PMS – Purchase More Shoes: Emmy Scarterfield

If you have been scouting the high-street to find those perfect pair of shoes for that special day but just feel utterly disappointed not finding those awe-inspiring pair, then designer Emmy Scarterfield is the fairy godmother who will put your shoe woes to rest.

Scarterfield is the founder of London based luxury custom made wedding shoes—Emmy. Scarterfield launched Emmy in May 2004 after realising—quite shockingly—the huge gap of dreamy wedding shoes in the market.

What makes her products totally unique is how the customer can choose every element of the shoe they want whether it’s the shape, heel size, colour or detail, thus making each piece different.

Before launching her own brand Emmy has worked with various bigwigs like Armani, Bottega Veneta, Mulberry and Pringle, in Milan and the UK. The idea to make personalised handmade shoes has, needless to say, earned her many accolades; the best being each bride feeling her shoes specific to her style and totally unique. Being a direct descendent of Charles Digby Harrod, the founder of Harrods, must have brought business in her genes; but it’s her sheer passion for unique shoes that has brought her business to greater heights. Scarterfield started out with just five pairs, and today the online boutique Emmy’s Shoes offers more than 60 different styles.

With top names like Pippa Middleton as a regular customer, designing shoes for Elizabeth Hurley, and being named best accessories designer by Condé Nast in 2006, it’s safe to say Emma Scarterfield is a true shoe fairy godmother to brides.
