Folk, punk and oriental: the new ASOS A/W ‘13 collection has it all!
Last night favourite online retailer ASOS gave us a sneaky peek at what they have lined up for autumn/winter 2013, and trust us, you won’t be disappointed. In four main trends: Vandal, Common Folk, Almost Famous and Shaman, ASOS ensure there is something to fit in with everyone’s style whilst including some of next season’s biggest trends.
The Vandal collection takes 90s grunge, punk and bondage detailing and mixes in androgynous shaped tailoring and striking texture. Fetish-inspired patent, leather and mesh is juxtaposed against animal print and fur, in equally contrasting skin-tight and oversized shapes. A colour palette of electric blue, acid rinse greys and the red and black check, synonymous with the punk era, creates edgy but wearable pieces.
Common Folk takes traditional handcrafted techniques and makes them contemporary by combining them with digitalised prints. It is the perfect collection to gently take your wardrobe from summer to autumn with a mix of winter florals, autumnal hues and fluffy knitwear. Beautiful touches of embroidery, rich burnout velvet and patterns fill twin sets, knee-length skirts and high-neck shirts and sweaters.
Oriental-inspired Shaman takes touches of eastern culture and reinvents them in western shapes. Oversized and chunky knitwear, shimmering sequins and elegant patterned silky textures make this trend chic and contemporary. Classic oriental floral prints have been digitalised for a modern aesthetic whilst other patterns have been kept simple using only two colours. 
Perfect for the party season this winter, Almost Famous takes Gatsby glamour and 70s styles and adds a lot of sparkle and embellishment! Metallic floral prints, brocade and sequins ensure you will sparkle through the night in this collection of floor-sweeping gowns to skater-shape dresses whilst keeping cosy in mink tone fur jackets.
