German Oscar-winning film director Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck delivers his third feature, Never Look Away, a suspense-packed drama that spans three decades of German history and highlights the important aspects of the art scene during this time.

The picture tells an emotive, moving story based on true events that pay homage to the contemporary German visual artist Gerhard Richter. We sat down with the filmmaker to discuss his inspiration for the movie, his lengths to create an authentic visual experience and his working relationships with award-winning American cinematographer Caleb Deschanel and acclaimed musical composer Max Richter.
