Michelin-starred Behind to host Langham Wine Estate one-off dinner

On Wednesday 25th January, Behind, an intimate Michelin-starred, fish-focused restaurant in east London, run by chef Andy Beynon, will be offering a seven-course dinner hosted by Langham Wine Estate and its head winemaker, Tommy Grimshaw.

A leading producer of English sparkling wine, the Dorset vineyard takes a hands-off approach to winemaking, producing rich, complex wine – perfect for pairing with the chef’s seafood menu.

Situated on the edge of London Fields, Hackney, Behind is Beynon’s first restaurant, having previously worked as development chef for Jason Atherton. For a restaurant that sounds like it’s hiding, it drew a lot of attention to itself as soon as it opened, hitting the culinary headlines after being awarded a Michelin star just 20 days into service.

The restaurant has 18 kitchen-table seats for lunch and dinner sittings, as well as a sleekly relaxed wine bar behind slatted wood partitions for a quiet drink. The space is designed by the chef himself from sketches on paper, going for a Brooklyn vibe with a a fitting 90s breakbeat soundtrack. Guests are seated at a theatrical circular counter from where they can view a separate open kitchen amid exposed piping, exposed bulbs: up-front is the word of the moment.

The seven-course dinner is priced at £160.00 per person. Spaces are limited for this one-off dining experience.
