Sonic the Hedgehog 3 tickets go on sale ahead of December cinema release
Paramount Pictures, in association with Sega Sammy Group, has announced that tickets for Sonic the Hedgehog 3 will go on sale on 29th November, ahead of its cinema release on 21st December 2024. The film, directed by Jeff Fowler, promises to bring back the beloved characters from the Sonic universe in a new adventure that pits them against a formidable new foe, Shadow.
The plot of Sonic the Hedgehog 3 centres on Sonic, alongside his friends Knuckles and Tails, as they face Shadow, a mysterious villain with unprecedented powers. The trio finds themselves outmatched and must form an unlikely alliance to thwart Shadow’s plans and save the planet. The film continues the storyline from its predecessors, building on the dynamic and adventurous themes that have been a hallmark of the series.
The production of the film involves several notable figures. Neal H Moritz, Toby Ascher, Toru Nakahara and Hitoshi Okuno have produced the movie, with executive production credits going to Haruki Satomi, Shuji Utsumi, Yukio Sugino, Jeff Fowler, Tommy Gormley and Tim Miller. The screenplay is a collaboration between Pat Casey, Josh Miller, and John Whittington, based on the popular SEGA video game.
The cast features a blend of returning actors and new faces, including Jim Carrey, Ben Schwartz, James Marsden, Tika Sumpter, Idris Elba and Keanu Reeves, alongside Krysten Ritter, Lee Majdoub, Natasha Rothwell, Adam Pally, Shemar Moore, Colleen O’Shaughnessey, Alyla Browne and James Wolk. This ensemble is expected to bring a mix of humour, action and drama to the big screen, appealing to a diverse audience ranging from children to longtime fans of the Sonic games.
