Netflix is set to release a new limited series titled Zero Day, featuring Robert De Niro as a former US President tasked with investigating a catastrophic cyber attack on the United States. The series, which explores the complexities of a potential second attack looming, is scheduled to debut on 20th February.

Zero Day stars De Niro as George Mullen, a respected former president who now leads the Zero Day Commission. The commission’s mission is to identify the culprits behind a devastating cyber attack that has resulted in chaos and numerous fatalities across the country. As Mullen delves deeper into the investigation, he encounters rampant disinformation and the conflicting ambitions of influential figures in technology, finance, and politics. His pursuit of the truth not only challenges his integrity but also forces him to confront his own dark secrets, putting everything he values at risk.

The series boasts a stellar ensemble cast including Angela Bassett, Lizzy Caplan, Jesse Plemons, Joan Allen, Connie Britton, Matthew Modine, Dan Stevens, Bill Camp, Gaby Hoffmann and Clark Gregg. It is penned and executive produced by Eric Newman (known for Narcos and Griselda), Noah Oppenheim (Jackie), and Michael S Schmidt. Lesli Linka Glatter (Homeland) takes the helm as the director and executive producer, alongside De Niro and Jonathan Glickman.

As the release date approaches, fans and critics alike are keenly anticipating how this series will unfold, especially given its timely theme of cyber security and political manoeuvring.
