BAFTA has revealed its 2026 Breakthrough line-up, with 21 rising stars and behind-the-scenes talents making the list of names to watch across film, television and gaming.
Among this year’s selections are The Other Bennet Sister actress Ella Bruccoleri, Prisoner star Izuka Hoyle and Ish filmmaker Imran Perretta, alongside A Want in Her director Myrid Carten and The Incomer writer-director Louis Paxton.
The line-up goes beyond familiar faces on screen, recognising the people bringing stories to life behind the camera. Emmerdale writer Yassmin Abdel-Magied, Sunny Dancer casting directors Lucy Allen and Tom Payne, and video game creator Eloise Singer are among those making the cut.
Supported by Netflix, BAFTA Breakthrough is now in its 13th year and has previously championed some of Britain’s biggest names, including Florence Pugh, Tom Holland, Jessie Buckley, Bella Ramsey and Josh O’Connor.
The programme offers emerging creatives mentoring, industry introductions and career support, giving them opportunities to build on their early successes.
With more than 330 talents supported worldwide, the annual selection has become one to keep an eye on, offering an early look at some of the people who could be shaping what we watch and play in the years ahead.
