Footwear trends Spring/Summer 2013

Footwear trends Spring/Summer 2013

As we write these words we are drooling… shoes… so many shoes, like a child in a sweet shop we had a look at the footwear trends for spring/summer 2013 and there is much to be excited about. Here are some of the major looks that have us reaching for the credit card.

Pointed Toes

The elegant pointed toe is having a resurgence and is like a breath of fresh air after the chunky platforms that have dominated shoe fashion for so long. The modern point is fierce and feminine as seen at Daks and Emporio Armarni.

Decorated Soles

We are loving the feature soles shown by the likes of Emilio Pucci and Dolce and Gabbana, they’re fun, eye-catching and surprisingly wearable.

Metallics

Another key trend is metallics, seen pretty much everywhere and in many different colours. This is a new take on a classic look and has a very glamourous feel. A trend within a trend is metallic toes, with a shiny toe cap taking centre stage in many collections.

Strapped Boots

Strappy knee high boots is a sexy take on the gladiatorial style that has been around for ages and were seen at numerous shows including Proenza Schouler, Salvatore Ferragamo and Alexander Wang.

Any of these beauties would make us happy, which trend will you be trying out?
