Are you in the mood for Samba, Emerald or Mykonos Blue?

Are you in the mood for Samba, Emerald or Mykonos Blue?

With spring fast approaching and summer not even here, Fashion Week has been saying hello to Fall 2013 already. It is all about being one step ahead. This week Pantone just announced their Fashion Colour Report for Fall 2013 with the help of top Designers such as Tommy Hilfiger, Jenny Packham, Rachel Roy, Timothy Everest and many, many more.

The colours portray the many moods of Fall. “Just as the leaves change in autumn, the consumer will enjoy the ability to change their ‘look’ and try a new approach to their wardrobe for brisk days ahead,” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Colour Institute. “The fall 2013 palette allows for that versatility and experimentation”.

Let’s take a look at the Women’s Colour Palette: greens, blues, greys, oranges, reds, purples and browns are the main attraction. Multi-faceted Emerald sparkles and it brings about an air of luxury and sophistication. Linden Green with a yellow tone brings a lightness and brightness to the deeper shades of Fall. Combine both colours with Mykonos Blue, a meditative blue and create a classic tranquil look.

Exotic Acai adds a touch of richness to the palette. Pair it together with Emerald for a regal disposition or feisty Samba for a bold look.

Koi dazzles away with its deep orange zest. Turbulence, a dark mercurial gray, and Carafe, a rich, glamorous brown, provides more interesting and sophisticated alternatives to the black basics usually worn in colder months. Both staple neutrals pair charmingly with more animated colours such as Samba, Koi and Vivacious.

For something different, mix Vivacious with anchoring Deep Lichen Green for a dynamic combination.

Similar to the women’s palette, the men’s colours are just as dominant: Luxurious Emerald, a sophisticated and vivid green, combined with Mykonos Blue or Linden Green portrays a traditional but trendy look. Acai adds a sense of mystery when paired with bold colours such as Samba and Koi.

The only difference between the men’s and women’s colours is Beaujolais, a full-bodied red that finishes the masculine ideal Fall look. Deep Lichen Green, a shaded mossy green proceeds to be the cornerstone colour for the men’s palette as well.

Unpredictable Turbulence and warm, rich Carafe, also play vital roles in men’s fashion trends, serving as strong staple hues for outerwear throughout the cooler months.
