Patouf A/W ‘13 collection leaves all to the imagination

Patouf A/W ‘13 collection leaves all to the imagination

Finding inspiration from unconventional artist Jackson Pollock, Anna Angseryd – founder and designer of the Swedish clothing brand Patouf – launches this year’s fall collection. Pollock, an American painter, was a known leader of early abstract expressionist movement in the 20th century, and was also the headline of film Pollock which won an Academy award in the year 2000.Patouf4

The collection aesthetically mimics Pollock’s style of painting by avoiding points of emphasis and abandoning all areas of traditional composition, which remains true to the Patouf brand by giving its following a sense of individuality. Structured dresses, removable pleated skirt pieces, masculine shirts, oversized jackets and wide leg trousers make up the imaginative collection, which playfully boast some unisex items too. PATOUF_AW13_W02-450x675

This is the second season that Patouf has released a male and female collection and Angseryd exhibits her inspiration even more, by adding unisex items casting a blur on the male-female dress boundaries.  As fashion is constantly changing it is great to see designers like Angseryd bring innovation to the fore, and give the public a platform to express creative freedom.Patouf3

The line has a visible element of art, as visuals of textures and layering can be seen in items with ink stained prints, metallic shades and loose structures, and with a colour palette of black, yellow and black and white prints, the collection leaves it up to the individual to carry out their own style.
