Killing two birds with one stone has never been done so efficiently and glamorously; this is the first online retailer and manufacturer for emerging designers, giving them this amazing opportunity to gain the vital experience needed to survive in the industry, while a successful fashion destination is being born, supplying high quality and unique goods.
Having been established in 2011, and translating into “My Fashion Catwalk”, this website encourages the interaction between consumers and designers, becoming a unique turning point in the industry, becoming the first interactive site that finally breaches the gap between the source and the buyer. The site gives followers the opportunity to vote for their favourite designer, after they have found a handful of designers and given them the task of producing an item, and then the winner’s collection will be produced and available to buy on the website.
They scout, produce and market these exclusive collections, giving global exposure for emerging designers and give beautiful clothing to consumers. Each garment of clothing, or accessory and jewellery is created on demand at the Mon Défilé workshops, in collaboration with the designers, and is ready-to-wear within 15 days.
This site has already gained masses of attention. With more than 15,000 subscribers in France alone and over 100 referenced designers with more than 1,500 garments in store, this destination will no doubt go even further. It also helps that they virtually have no competition, as the support they give to each designer, and the unique and exclusive clothing that is available to buy doesn’t live up to any others.
Martine Leherpeur, the founder of a fashion consultancy firm in Paris, tracked the progress of the site, and stated: “This project is a breath of fresh air and an innovative way to see the fashion world. It is a great opportunity for young talented designers who are trying to make a name for themselves.”
Within the last two years the site has won a number of awards, including the Paris City Hall Innovation prize 2013, and the Palme D’Or of e-commerce 2012, and is also being launched internationally for the whole world to bask in their glory.
