Mayfair restaurant Mazarine marks Beaujolais Nouveau Day with £95 French menu and cru wine flights

Mazarine, the French seafood restaurant in Mayfair, will mark Beaujolais Nouveau Day with a three-course menu and a flight of Beaujolais cru wines, served at lunch and dinner from Thursday 19th to Saturday 21st November. The restaurant on Hanover Square is celebrating the annual release of the French region’s new vintage with a menu of gallic classics from executive chef Thierry Laborde.

Beaujolais Nouveau Day falls on the third Thursday of November each year. It marks the release of the first wines from the year’s harvest in France’s Beaujolais region, and the young wines, known for their fresh and fruity character, are traditionally greeted with celebrations across the country.

Laborde’s menu combines traditional French dishes with the restaurant’s usual focus on seafood. Every diner is first served a Croque Mazarine, the kitchen’s version of the croque monsieur, followed by a choice of starters including Cecina (air-dried beef served with olive oil and aged Parmesan), Escargots with garlic and parsley butter or Petit Poulpe de Porquerolles (baby octopus dish with lemon and herbs).

For the main course, diners can choose between cod with crushed new potatoes and beurre blanc, Coq au Vin made with chicken braised in red wine with lardons and mushrooms, or Tournedos de Thon, a tuna steak served with a peppercorn sauce. Each comes with a choice of side. Dessert is profiteroles filled with vanilla ice cream and topped with a warm chocolate sauce.

Over the three days at Mazarine, diners can also order a wine flight of three 125ml glasses for £50 per person. The selection comprises a 2024 Côte de Brouilly from Daniel Bouland, a 2023 Fleurie La Madone and a 2024 Morgon Corcelette Vieilles Vignes, both from Domaine Chamonard. The latter draws on earlier vintages from three of the region’s crus, and can be ordered as a welcome glass for an additional £10.

Having only opened in December 2025, Mazarine has already been recommended in the Michelin Guide. The Beaujolais Nouveau menu will be served during the restaurant’s normal lunch service, from 12pm to 2.45pm, and dinner service, from 6pm to 10.45pm, on each of the three days.
