Kate Spade New York: summer 2014 collection

Kate Spade New York: summer 2014 collection

New York label Kate Spade has always had a knack for delighting women across the world with charming designs both playful and modern. And summer 2014 has certainly not missed the boat. Enter Kate Spade New York’s enchanting new watch collection.1

Drawing upon inspiration from the city of New York itself, each watch embodies the life and soul of a “city that never sleeps”, with subtly refined additions of gaiety and jest.

Take the Metro Somewhere watch: adorned with a pink martini cocktail in place of the fifth hour marker – no doubt a nod to the famous “happy hour” – and a clock-hand good enough to eat in shades of pastel blue and white. Or a new spin on the traditional Metro watch: each hour marked with a whimsical music note, accented by a daring fuchsia pink clock-hand.2

But Spade’s signature affinity for feminine sophistication remains apparent. Whilst much of the collection features watches of bold candy-toned straps, others don elegantly neutral leather straps alongside delicate mother-of-pearl dials and classic gold-plated numerals. Lustrous gold-toned face cases also lend themselves to a number of Spade’s designs.

With prices starting at £150 for the Tiny Metro, and each watch water resistant up to 30m, each piece is set to be a timeless, (pardon the pun), investment in your jewellery box.
