If you had to sum up Collina Strada’s A/W 2015 collection in one word, you couldn’t. It was so successful at combining so many design elements, that you couldn’t pinpoint one element that held its ground throughout. Leather and buckles were in the same look as long chiffon skirts and jersey tops. Models were set up amongst angular mirrors, where they would look to occasionally fix their hair or glance just to see how cool they appeared in Strada’s creations. The collection shined in its balance of warrior-esque leather and details with soft sheers and knits. Each look felt structured and feminine all at the same time.

In several looks of this collection, Strada manipulated the concept of the leather vest. Some looks featured full leather tops tailored to the body with the help of straps and buckles. Other looks had simple leather bodices cropped just under the bust, usually worn on top of a long jersey top exposing the skin underneath. One successful outfit in particular included a leather halter top that went past the base of the neck, paired with studded, straight black pants. Also noteworthy were two oversized leather jackets lined in luxurious shearling.

The softer elements of this collection included jersey dresses and sheer, flowy tops. These garments gave this collection a perfect amount of femininity and made it appealing to a wide variety of styles. The colors also enhanced this versatility with the edgy black and burgundy looks offsetting the creamy white and camel tones.

Strada delivered a cool collection for this coming fall. Not only did it have a masculine attitude, but a form-fitting femininity. It’s worth betting that everyone who buys this collection will take after the models and stare a little too long in the mirror.
