Sopwell House to celebrate Diwali with street food party and fireworks in St Albans

Sopwell House, the five-star Georgian country house hotel in St Albans, will hold its annual Diwali celebration on Friday 6^th November, with Indian street food, live entertainment and fireworks.

This year’s celebration of the Hindu Festival of Lights is the hotel’s fourth and biggest yet. The format for 2026 has been changed to a street food-style evening, replacing a sit-down meal with a variety of food stands and dancing across two event rooms. Beginning at 7pm, guests will be given a welcome drink before moving through to the St Alban Suite and The Mountbatten room. The spaces will be laid out with street food stands and carts modelled on India’s food markets, serving a range of dishes throughout the night.

Alongside food and drinks, a DJ set and a series of live performances are scheduled all through the evening – with a dancefloor, of course. Later in the night, guests will move outside to the landscaped gardens for a fireworks display, followed by more music and dancing till midnight.

Set in 12 acres of land, Sopwell House is within easy reach of London St Pancras and Luton Airport. Previous Diwali parties at the venue have sold out, and this one promises to be just as popular. Tickets start at £109 per person.
