Lily-Rose Depp lands first Chanel campaign
Following in the stylish footsteps of her mother and Karl Lagerfeld’s long-time muse, Vanessa Paradis, Lil-Rose Depp has just been named the new ambassador for the French fashion house, Chanel.
The campaign is for the label’s new Pearl eyewear collection and was shot by Lagerfeld himself. Not bad for a 16-year-old’s first campaign. The teenager is her mother’s ethereal double, clad with waifish blonde hair and Jolie lips.
As the daughter of the stunning, once model/actress and equally, if not more, beautiful Johnny Depp, it is no surprise that Lily-Rose turned heads and brought the internet to a grinding halt back in March when she made her first public appearance at the star-studded Chanel Metiers d’Art show in New York. Donning an embellished, pastel blue two-piece embroidered with sequins and a silver neckpiece to match she stood in stark contrast to her mother who opted for a more gothic ensemble.
The mother-daughter team of beauties also stepped out together recently to walk in Chanel’s casino-themed fall-winter 2015 haute couture show. With their matching blonde bobs and delicate facial features, the audience struggled to tell the two apart.
Vanessa Paradis shot her first Chanel campaign at the age of 18 and remains today a highly regarded member of Lagerfeld’s unique group of beauties. If the past few months are anything to go by then we can be sure that daughter Lily is on her way to becoming a member of this exclusive club.
Clearly mini-Depp knows how to work a camera, not just executed through her recent adventures with Chanel but also by her slightly edgy, effortlessly stunning Instagram selfies and her recent appearance in Irish rapper Rejjie Snow’s music video for his soulful track, All Around The World. Depp is also to star in Kevin Smith’s upcoming horror film, Yoga Hosers. With a Chanel campaign in her pocket and a very exciting career on the horizon, we think this may just be the start for this young fashionista.
Not only has Lily-Rose disproved the preconceptions regarding that awkward adolescent stage – clearly not EVERYONE experiences it – but this campaign officially marks her as the coolest 16-year-old on the planet. For today at least!
