Kingston’s Patio Pizza begins summer residency at The Greyhound in Peckham

Independent pizzeria Patio Pizza, originally established in Kingston by Alim Nayil, has begun a summer residency at multi-purpose venue The Greyhound in Peckham, starting this June. The move marks the first time the business has expanded beyond its base since opening in 2020, and will see chefs serving their signature pizzas and rotating specials.
The Greyhound is operated by the team behind events venue The Cause. It includes a pub on the ground floor, an outdoor courtyard and a club space in the basement, and has become a popular spot for both locals and visitors. The addition of Patio Pizza is part of the Peckham establishment’s ongoing efforts to diversify its food and drink offerings.
Founded by Nayil during his university years on his own patio, Patio Pizza has amassed a dedicated local following in Kingston. The pizzeria has developed a hybrid dough that combines the thin, crisp undercarriage of a New York-style pizza with the chewy texture of a traditional Neapolitan base, using a blend of three flours and slow-fermented daily. This approach has resulted in recognition, including an 18th place ranking in The Times’s 50 Best Pizzas in the UK.
An abridged menu will be offered at The Greyhound, featuring the best-known pizzas, as well as monthly special items ranging from deep-dish Detroit-style pizzas to former off-menu favourites, alongside a selection of sides and house-made dips. The residency aims to introduce Patio Pizza’s distinct style to a new audience in south London. Nayil says: “We’re excited to bring our pizzas to Peckham and to be part of The Greyhound’s evolving food scene.”
