Hackney’s Sesta launches Saturday sandwich menu with free giveaway

Hackney’s restaurant and wine bar, Sesta is launching a new sandwich menu available on Saturdays. The initiative, titled Sesta Sandwiches, will begin on 28th June at the Wilton Way location, with 40 free sandwiches given away from 12.30pm on the opening day. The new offering is designed to cater to locals and visitors seeking takeaway lunch options, particularly those heading to nearby London Fields.

The Saturday sandwich menu will be available for takeaway only, between 12.30pm and 4.00pm. Chef Drew Snaith, who co-owns Sesta with Hannah Kowalski, has developed a weekly changing selection that reflects his eclectic cooking style. On the launch day, the menu will feature two options: a smoked bacon and sausage porchetta sandwich with rhubarb hot sauce, shrub salad, pig’s head jam and chicharron, as well as a smoked aubergine parm fritter sandwich with marinated Nutbourne tomato, shrub salad and zuni pickles.

Sandwiches will be priced at £12.50 each, with a limited quantity available each Saturday. Sides such as pork gravy or arrabiata sauce will be available for an additional £2, and customers will have the option to add Sesta’s Nduja Scotched Olives (olives stuffed with spicy nduja, wrapped in sausage meat, and deep fried) skewered to the sandwich for a further £2.

The launch comes as part of Sesta’s efforts to expand its offerings and connect with the local community during the summer months. In addition to the new food menu, the restaurant will introduce branded merchandise available to purchase, including T-shirts at £20 and tote bags at £12. The new sandwich menu will be available exclusively on Saturdays, and no advance booking is required for the giveaway on 28th June.
