Tewinbury Farm launches summer events programme for families just outside London

Tewinbury Farm in Welwyn, Hertfordshire, will host a series of family-focused events throughout the 2025 summer holidays, offering a range of children’s activities just 30 minutes from London. Set on a 700-acre working farm, the venue aims to provide entertainment for families visiting the countryside during the break. The summer family festivities include a number of scheduled events that will take place in the Tythe Barn and surrounding areas on the farm.

The fun begins with a Fairy Theatre on Thursday 31st July, with a morning and afternoon performance. A Barnyard Disco follows on Wednesday 13th August, offering what organisers describe as “high-energy fun” for children. The Fairy Theatre returns on Tuesday 19th August, and the programme concludes with a Magic Show on Tuesday 26th August. In addition to the scheduled events, visitors can explore the farm’s grounds, which include wildflower meadows and animal enclosures. The on-site restaurants will serve seasonal food, with a dedicated children’s menu available, and on-site family accommodation is offered for those wishing to extend their visit.

The summer events join an increasing variety of rural tourism, with countryside venues offering more and more family-oriented programming during school holidays. A spokesperson for the farm said: “Families can meet friendly farm animals, wander through wildflower meadows and enjoy seasonal farm-to-fork food at the on-site restaurants – all complete with a dedicated kids’ menu.”
