Matcha-focused café, How Matcha!, will open a second site in Notting Hill this September. The new venue, located at 52 Ledbury Road, will span three floors and seat up to 30 guests. The expansion aims to replicate the community-oriented atmosphere of the original café while introducing a selection of freshly created drinks exclusive to the Notting Hill branch.

Founded by Rashique Siddique, with Callum Doherty overseeing operations at the latest site, How Matcha! has positioned itself as a social hub for matcha enthusiasts. Doherty stated, “Bringing people together and providing a space for belonging is the heart of what we do at How Matcha! People don’t just drop in, guests often spend four to five hours here each day, feeling truly at home. It’s so important to us to champion smaller suppliers, support independent businesses, and celebrate their growth as our shared success too.”

The Notting Hill café will include three distinct areas: a ground floor with seating and oak-panelled walls, a basement level dubbed the Kintsugi Room featuring wood and marble finishes, and the Garden Room, which opens onto a courtyard. Each space has been designed to offer a relaxed environment inspired by traditional Japanese aesthetics and the meditative nature of matcha preparation.

The menu will retain many of the popular items from the Marylebone location, such as the Dirty Matcha and the Immune – a blend of matcha with cinnamon, ginger, turmeric, black pepper, bee pollen, and honey. New additions exclusive to this second site include the Matcha Noir (made with black sesame, roasted chestnut, activated charcoal, and matcha) and the Sunburst (a combination of matcha, strawberry jam, peach purée, banana, and turmeric milk). Seasonal drinks like the Strawberry & Elderflower Tonic and Lychee Tonic will also be available.

In collaboration with Wild Oats, the café will introduce a new soft serve offering in two flavours: Iced Oat Matcha Latte and Dirty Matcha.

To mark the launch, the How Matcha! Run Club will host its first event on 3rd September, with participants running from the Marylebone branch to the new Notting Hill location.
