Venchi brings unconventional Italian gelato flavours to London for summer collaboration

Italian chocolatier and gelato maker Venchi has launched three new gelato flavours in its London boutiques this summer, drawing inspiration from traditional Mediterranean ingredients. The new flavours—Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Parmigiano Reggiano, and Caramel & Rosemary—are available across Venchi’s ten London locations, including Covent Garden, Hampstead, and Battersea. The launch is part of a limited-edition collaboration with Tuscan olive oil producer Laudemio Frescobaldi.

The gelato flavours aim to reinterpret classic Italian ingredients in an unconventional dessert format. The Extra Virgin Olive Oil gelato combines Venchi’s fior di latte base with Laudemio Frescobaldi olive oil, highlighting the oil’s herbal and slightly spicy notes. The Parmigiano Reggiano flavour also uses the same milk-based gelato to contrast the cheese’s savoury profile with a touch of sweetness and includes soft cheese flakes. Meanwhile, the Caramel & Rosemary gelato features crunchy caramel crumbs balanced by the aromatic bitterness of rosemary.

Venchi’s partnership with Laudemio Frescobaldi also includes a new chocolate spread. The Milk Chocolate & Piedmont Hazelnut Spread with Extra Virgin Olive Oil blends the Tuscan oil with hazelnuts sourced from Piedmont’s Langhe region. The spread is freshly prepared and packaged in-store.

“We’re thrilled to collaborate with Venchi to bring these unique Mediterranean-inspired creations to life,” said Matteo Frescobaldi, Marketing Manager at Laudemio Frescobaldi. “Our extra virgin olive oil is known for its delicate yet distinctive flavour, and pairing it with Venchi’s excellent chocolate and gelato offers a new and exciting way to elevate the already exquisite offerings. This collaboration highlights the finest Italian specialities, reimagined in a fresh and innovative way.”

Founded in 1878, Venchi has expanded globally with a focus on chocolate and gelato. The company emphasises the use of high-quality ingredients in line with the Mediterranean diet. Laudemio Frescobaldi, meanwhile, is known for its premium olive oil, produced in the hills of Tuscany and pressed at Castello Nipozzano shortly after harvest.

G.B. Mantelli, Venchi’s Founder and Brand Ambassador, commented: “Venchi and Laudemio Frescobaldi are quintessential Italian products. Venchi is always committed to sourcing the finest raw materials, and there was no question when it came to Laudemio. The meeting between the two infuses Venchi’s chocolate and gelato with Laudemio Frescobaldi’s premium Extra Virgin Olive Oil which comes from Tuscany. The result is a limited-edition Spread with Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Hazelnut and Extra Virgin Olive Oil Gelato. The products pair perfectly together, offering customers a taste of Italy with every bite. This new collaboration pays homage to both brands’ Italian craftsmanship and culinary passion, and we look forward to customer response.”
