Gail’s Bakery launches Knead for Speed run club series across London, blending fitness with fresh buns

Gail’s Bakery has partnered with a number of local run clubs and exercise groups across London throughout August to launch Knead for Speed, a series of community events combining exercise with post-run refreshments. The initiative, which spans multiple locations across the capital, aims to bring together participants of all levels in a celebration of health, sweetness and shared experience.

Taking place at various Gail’s locations, each in collaboration with a different local club, the events are designed to reflect the growing role of running groups as more than just for fitness. In recent years, they have evolved into informal support networks, offering members opportunities for bonding, accountability and mental wellbeing. The bakery chain is tapping into this trend by offering participants a chance to unwind after their runs with a selection of baked goods, including their signature Cinnamon Bun and two new additions: the Cardamom & Sesame Bun and the Babka

While Gail’s has not detailed the number of participants expected or whether the series will be recurring, the campaign is indicative of a wider movement among lifestyle brands to engage more directly with local communities through health and wellness initiatives. A spokesperson described the initiative as “a joyful mash-up of movement, community and bun-worthy rituals”, highlighting the dual focus on physical activity and social connection.
