Sam’s Riverside, a brasserie located on the banks of the River Thames in Hammersmith, has launched its seasonal summer terrace in collaboration with South African winery Journey’s End. The partnership, which began earlier this month, aims to offer Londoners a curated selection of wines alongside the restaurant’s full à la carte menu, in a riverside setting designed for outdoor dining during the warmer months.

The terrace, which overlooks Hammersmith Bridge, is open daily and features six wines from Journey’s End, a Stellenbosch-based winery that operates with sustainable practices and B-Corp certification. The wine list includes a mix of whites, reds and rosés, such as the Wild Child Grenache Rosé, V1 Chardonnay and the Cape Doctor Bordeaux Blend. In addition to the drinks offering, guests can order from the full Sam’s Riverside menu, which includes dishes such as oysters, parmesan churros and seasonal croquettes. The restaurant, part of the Genuine Restaurants Group, specialises in contemporary British cuisine and has received accolades including an AA Rosette and a listing in the Michelin Guide. Its new terrace has been outfitted with hand-embroidered cashmere blankets, produced by women supported through the Journey’s End Foundation, and ice buckets made from recycled plastic bottles, reflecting the winery’s sustainability ethos.

Sam Harrison, co-owner of Sam’s Riverside, said: “We’re thrilled to be partnering with Journey’s End this summer – a truly pioneering South African winery producing exceptional wines from the southernmost tip of Stellenbosch. As the first vineyard in South Africa to earn B-Corp certification, their commitment to quality and sustainability really resonates with us. We look forward to guests enjoying these award-winning wines that will complement our fresh, light new summer dishes on our beautiful new sun terrace, taking in the stunning riverside views.”
