South African-influenced restaurant Kudu, founded by husband-and-wife duo Amy Corbin and Patrick Williams, will open a new site in Marylebone on 16th September. The new location brings together all three elements of the Kudu Collective – Kudu Restaurant, Kudu Grill and Curious Kudu – operating under one roof for the first time. The move follows eight years of operation in Peckham, and represents a significant expansion for the group.

The new venue will continue to serve the eatery’s signature style of seasonal European cuisine with South African influences. Williams said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to have the opportunity to bring Kudu to central London and to join the close knit Marylebone community – it’s something we’ve dreamed about for a long time. The move to a larger site with a bigger kitchen opens up so many exciting opportunities to continue sharing and celebrating our South African cuisine with our guests.”

The menu will include a combination of new items and returning favourites, designed for sharing but with individual portions are also available. Signature items such as Kudu Bread served with flavoured butters will remain, alongside dishes like Burrata with Pineapple, Tomato, Ginger and Shiso and Harissa Chopped Beef Topped with Crispy Shallots and Fresh Coriander. Mains will highlight traditional braai cooking methods, including a pork chop with monkey gland sauce and a Cape Malay Monkfish Potjie. Desserts include Fig Pavlova with Rooibos Jelly and Fig and Blackberry Cream and a Kit Kat Tart with Burnt Marshmallow, while a larger sharing dessert – Durban Pineapple – features spiced pineapple, cardamom brûlée and coconut soft serve. Weekends bring brunch and Sunday roasts with South African twists, such as Honey Roast Ham Crumpets and Pork Belly with Burnt Apple Purée. Drinks focus on the country’s own wines, particularly from the Western Cape, and include both classic and original cocktails, as well as non-alcoholic options.

The interior design, created in collaboration with London-based Fabled Studio, draws inspiration from South African landscapes and textiles. The space features red travertine countertops, woven fabrics and artworks by artist Tamary Kudita, who hails from the area. Corbin commented: “The restaurant is designed to feel alive, with the red travertine echoing South African soil, fabrics inspired by the flames of the grill, and artworks that speak of history and heritage.”
