Riga’s Cruffins bakery makes UK debut in Covent Garden with new Cruffin Burger and exclusive London menu

Riga-based bakery Cruffins has opened its first UK location on Drury Lane in London’s Covent Garden, marking its international debut. The bakery specialises in croissant-muffin hybrid pastries. The expansion introduces a new menu of sweet and savoury offerings, including the launch of a new product—the Cruffin Burger—to the British capital.

Founded in Latvia in 2023, Cruffins gained a loyal following in Riga for its distinctive pastries made from slow-fermented, hand-laminated dough and filled with house-made ingredients. The London site, located at 181 Drury Lane, features a 50-seat café with additional outdoor seating.

The menu includes a selection of filled cruffins such as Raspberry Cheesecake, Pistachio Ganache, Coconut-pineapple, and a Snickers-inspired flavour with caramel and roasted peanuts. A breakfast range, only for the London location, is available from 8am daily and includes options such as Salmon and Avocado, Chicken Caesar, and The Londoner—a combination of smoked bacon, brown sauce hollandaise and a Clarence Court egg.

The newly introduced Cruffin Burger uses the bakery’s signature laminated dough to create a layered savoury sandwich. Beverages include coffee from Volcano, premium teas, matcha, kombucha, beer, and a selection of sparkling wines and Champagne.

The interior design features blue and white décor consistent with the brand’s aesthetic, which is also reflected in its takeaway packaging. In addition to its menu, Cruffins has launched a loyalty initiative known as the Cruffins Club, which offers customers rewards, exclusive flavours and surprise gifts through continued visits and engagement.

“London has one of the most exciting, creative and highly discerning food scenes in the world. We know we have to earn our place here — and that’s exactly what we intend to do,” said Mr Janis Vilisons, Director of Cruffins. “We’ve built a brand around craft, quality and imagination, and this opening is just the beginning for Cruffins in the UK.”
