Sambaroom celebrates World Sake Day and launches global cocktail series with Bangkok’s Bar Us collaboration

Sushisamba’s cocktail bar, Sambaroom, located on the 39th floor of the Heron Tower, promises some exciting events this autumn. As part of the brand’s ongoing efforts to showcase international mixology talent and highlight culturally inspired drinks, they will be honouring World Sake Day on 1st October, as well as hosting a one-night-only collaboration with Bangkok’s Bar Us – currently ranked fourth on The World’s 50 Best Bars list – later in the month.
The venue will celebrate World Sake Day with a dedicated new cocktail, named Nami Velvet, which has been created by bar manager Alexandra Gomori-Carillo. The drink is described as a long, carbonated serve intended to evoke the atmosphere of a “temple garden at dusk in Kyoto”. To reflect the changing seasons and the calmness of late summer, it features ingredients such as butter-washed sake, yuzu liqueur, salted caramel, banana and verjus.
On 27th October, Sambaroom will launch their new monthly takeover series, Night Shifts. The first guest appearance features Bar Us from Bangkok, whose visiting team will join the resident bartenders for an evening of collaborative cocktail-making, from 7pm until closing. Four original cocktails will be offered during the takeover, all combining Thai ingredients with modern mixology techniques. Among the drinks on offer will be a White Champaca Gimlet, made with Ojo de Dios Joven Mezcal, white champaca, sherry fino, rose lemonade and cucumber. Also on the menu will be a Tom Yam Highball, which includes mezcal, elderflower and cucumber tonic, umami bitters, chili oil and lemongrass, and a Rio de Oro – a long drink that blends genmaicha-infused mezcal with salt syrup, coconut, vanilla, and pineapple and almond soda. A non-alcoholic option, ¡Bacán!, will also be available, incorporating carbonated coconut water, orange blossom, lemon verbena and vanilla cordial.
