Mildreds brings plant-based pop-up to Canary Wharf with takeover at Mallow

Mildreds, a long-established plant-based restaurant group in London, has launched a temporary takeover of its sister site, Mallow Canary Wharf, bringing its signature meat-free menu to the Wood Wharf area. The takeover begins on 6th November and will continue till February 2026, offering a new dining option in the heart of Canary Wharf’s business and cultural district. The move marks the first time the group has operated in the area.

Founded in 1988 in Soho, Mildreds has since expanded to several locations across London, including Camden, Covent Garden, Victoria and King’s Cross. The temporary residency at Mallow’s Canary Wharf site allows them to present their globally influenced vegan cuisine to a new audience in east London. To mark the launch, customers are being gifted a 30% discount on food from 6th to 16th November, with advance sign-up required to access the offer.

As part of the takeover, the venue – rebranded for the duration as Mildreds on the Wharf – will serve a wide-ranging plant-based menu both inside the restaurant and on its outdoor terrace. Dishes include small plates, burgers, salads and breakfast options, alongside drinks. Menu highlights include a Dukk Salad with crispy vegan “duck” and mango jeow som dressing, a Vegan Cheeseburger in a beetroot bun, and a Flame Broth with rice noodles and panko tofu. For dessert, diners can opt for the Final Feast chocolate cake with sour cherry compote. A limited-edition cocktail menu inspired by the theatre is also available, tying in with the restaurant’s special pre- and post-theatre set menu that has been developed in conjunction with the opening of the nearby Troubadour Canary Wharf Theatre.

A spokesperson for Mildreds said the takeover allows the restaurant to bring its “colourful plates, big flavours and the warm hospitality Mildreds has been serving since 1988” to a new part of the city. Meanwhile, Mallow’s original Borough Market location continues to operate with its own seasonal, plant-based menu.
