Starhotels enters Swiss market with addition of Collina d’Oro Resort & Spa to luxury portfolio

Leading Italian hotel group Starhotels has announced that Collina d’Oro Resort & Spa, a five-star property located near Lugano, has joined its Collezione portfolio. The move marks the company’s first expansion into Switzerland and is part of a broader strategy to strengthen its presence in the international luxury resort and wellness sector. The group will provide support in sales, marketing, communications, revenue management and integrate the resort into its booking system and loyalty programme, while the resort will retain its operational independence.

The Swiss property is located within a 25-hectare natural park, surrounded by wooded hills and Alpine views. It includes 44 rooms, of which 28 are suites, designed with an emphasis on natural light and understated elegance, and there’s a spacious spa, a fitness area and a restaurant offering Mediterranean cuisine with a modern interpretation.

Starhotels operates 34 properties, including locations in Italy, London, Paris and New York, now expanding into Switzerland. Elisabetta Fabri, president and CEO of the brand, said: “We are delighted to bring Starhotels to Switzerland for the first time through this new commercial agreement. This initiative enhances our expertise in high-end hospitality and confirms Starhotels’ role as a leading hub for excellence, attracting properties that seek a solid, skilled and reliable partner for growth. It represents an opportunity for us to showcase our capabilities beyond the boundaries where we traditionally excel, leveraging the know-how we have developed over years of experience in both domestic and international markets.”
